Started The Azure Loom
For more than 50 years, our family has been on a journey to inspire healthy and abundant living.
That journey became Azure Standard a family business built around clean food, healthy soil, and supporting families who want to live a healthier lifestyle.
We spent decades reading ingredient labels, choosing organic food, and asking where our food came from. We cared deeply about what we were putting into our bodies and on our soil.
Then one day I heard that cotton was one of the most toxically grown crops. Using over 500% more pesticide chemicals than the average, that was only the beginning. Once it got into the textile mills, it became one of the biggest contributors to water pollution on the planet! This manufacturing processes involves a wide range of harsh dyes, finishes, and other chemical treatments. With almost no safety regulatory oversight. At the same time, the rise of fast fashion has contributed to a cycle of inexpensive clothing designed to be worn briefly and discarded, creating enormous amounts of waste, and a demand for more from this same toxic industry…
It was that light bulb moment that I couldn’t believe I was just hearing about… You mean we support that industry? We wear this product touching most of our skin, (our largest organ), 24 hours a day?
Once we understood the full story, we couldn't ignore it.
As a family, we made a commitment. We would buy organic clothing whenever we could. And when we
couldn’t, we would choose second hand rather than support the production of new fast-fashion garments.
It sounded simple.
It wasn’t.
I have seven daughters. Finding beautiful clothing for seven growing girls is already a challenge. Finding clothing that is organic, well-made, and something they actually want to wear? That often felt impossible.
We would find something we loved, an organic shirt, a simple
dress, only to have it disappear the next season. Brands would change direction.
Sizes would be out of stock. Styles would come and go. We were always starting over.
There was no dependable place to go. No consistent source for everyday organic clothing that families could rely on.
One of my daughters, Xavierra, refused to compromise. As a young teenager, she decided to do something about it.
When she couldn’t find what she was looking for, she began designing and sewing her own clothing. What started as a personal conviction quickly grew into a passion for creating pieces that were both beautiful and intentional.
Over time, that passion aligned with something our whole family had been feeling: this shouldn’t be so hard.
That conviction became The Azure Loom.
We’re not here to chase trends or build another fashion brand.
We’re here to create a reliable source for clean, thoughtfully made clothing that families can come back to year after year. Timeless designs. Everyday essentials. Clothing made with materials and processes chosen with care for the land, for the people who make them, for your loved ones who wear them and cleanly turns back to soil once its journey ends.
